If so, great!! Hi, we’re Bellawatt. We build transformative software products for some of the leading energy companies including PG&E, Sunrun, and the DOE. The energy industry is undergoing massive changes and our clients are increasingly using modern software to help solve their biggest challenges and unlock new opportunities.

Our projects range widely, touch on the latest trends, and all contribute to modernizing the energy and utility industry. For example, a publicly traded electric utility hired us to rebuild their energy efficiency marketplace (link: https://guide.pge.com/), where our user-friendly and nimble interface has led to traffic growing 4x over the previous implementation.

We’ve now reached the limits of our ability to manage business development piece-meal and are looking for a dedicated team member to help us become the go-to resource for 100+ energy company CEOs and VPs. Our team’s strengths in Product and Engineering lead to a very high close rate. Where we need your help is to fill up and manage our pipeline. This includes:

  • Reaching out to ~70k people we’ve already identified we want to connect with;
  • Managing mid-funnel prospects through the long sales cycle that understanbly comes from selling to large enterprises; and,
  • When inspiration strikes at the company, work with the CEO to test new ideas.

The ideal candidate would:

  1. Have 2-5 years of sales-related experience as an SDR or BDR, preferably at a previous tech company. Energy experience is not at all necessary.
  2. Be a fantastic written communicator. Your words will be the tool that connects our work with our future customers.
  3. Work systematically. We don’t expect you to be able to keep a long-term pipeline in your head.
  4. Describe themselves as a self-starter. Given you’d be the first dedicated business development team member, you would be trusted to occasionally operate with incomplete information.

  4. A BD Case Study (90 min) to launch a new offering together. You’ll work together with a product manager and another colleague to get a sense of how we all collaborate.
